As an Enrollment Advisor, I assist prospective students who are interested in furthering their education.聽 I initially work with students to explore their interests, provide them with the information they need regarding the program and application process and determine if the program is a good fit.聽 I then help students build a strong application for our partner school's program by ensuring they know what to expect, by having regular contact with students and providing them with guidance and feedback.聽聽

Where do you see your specialty going in the next five years?

I foresee growth in my position as an Enrollment Advisor and in the field of online education.聽 In my role, I speak with students from diverse backgrounds; students continuing their education straight from their bachelor's degree programs, students who are looking for career advancement, students who are looking to transition into a new career field, students who are lifelong learners and students who are full-time working professionals.聽 聽With technology advancements, the ability to have interactive programs for students and growing partnerships with nationally and internationally ranked institutions, students can feel confident that they will earn a quality education while having the convenience and flexibility of an online program.

How can you use your skills to change the student experience for the better?

My previous work experience is in social work and I am currently working for our partner's online Master of Social Work program, which really allows me to build rapport quickly with students.聽 My experience in the field of social work, often working in difficult situations, with diverse populations, and with sometimes volatile and aggressive youth, has taught me the importance of patience and listening to others concerns, while helping to overcome any obstacles and help others see their potential.

What is your favorite personal achievement?

I returned home my junior year of college to attend community college and work 2 jobs in order to save up money for the opportunity of a lifetime: Semester at Sea.聽 In the Spring of 2009, I circumnavigated the globe on a ship of 750 students and was fortunate to visit Spain, Morocco, Namibia, South Africa, Mauritius, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Hawaii, and Guatemala.聽 My voyage provided me with amazing memories, relationships, and experiences including volunteering at Mother Theresa's orphanage in Agra, India.

The theme of our voyage was "Ubuntu", a South African philosophy about humanity and all of us being bound together;聽that we have the ability to impact others; that we are who we are because of the people and relationships in our lives.聽 My experiences on Semester at Sea and the Ubuntu philosophy have turned into my motivation and passion.聽 I have a genuine desire to be of service to others, to build relationships, to work with people of diverse backgrounds and to personally explore, develop and grow.聽

Is there a hobby you can't live without?

I love traveling - to really experience new places, cultures, people, and food!聽 In my spare time, I love to golf, spend time with family and watch true crime documentaries.聽
